Neoclassical Room

This Federal style neoclassical room is one of four "pre designed" period designs that we are producing for our clients. We will create for you a beautifully designed and constructed room with exquisite hand carving - at a good price!

Not only has our neoclassical room has been accurately researched to create the most famous deigns of their time, but we will produce the room and the wood carved decoration in your choice of wood, or painted.

Adapted to your needs and space, this Federal style room will be constructed, hand carved, finished and installed. We can even supply the furniture, window and wall treatments. You will save time and money because we will look after the complete process - and the design will be free!

The Federal neoclassical furniture in the room is optional and we will be happy to supply these or other pieces as desired. The room design can also be adapted to suite a bedroom, dining room or library so that cabinets can conceal televisions and other high tech gadgetry or replaced with a specifically designed bed and side tables.

Remember all our woodcarving is done by hand - it is therefore unique - so that we can interweave unique images into the wood carved decoration that are unique to you and your family. And if you have any doubts about the quality of our wood carving take a look around the rest of this site.

The other designs we are delivering are Gothic, French and Art Nouveau.

Call us, and with you we will develop a design and budget for your neoclassical room to suit your needs and space.

North Elevation

Our design shows a delicate Federal style cornice and doors. The doors have raised panels and egg and dart moulding and the casing (an important feature of the neoclassical style) is carved with acanthus moulding, rosettes and capitals that are specific to the period. There is a chair rail and paneling above a wood carved baseboard. This elevation also shows a beautifully carved federal style mirror frame and a side table that are optional or can be adapted to other uses - such as a desk.

A detail of the chair rail so typical of the period shows egg and dart moulding above a
simple acanthus detail, whilst the hand carved side table with its acanthus frieze and
rosettes compete the neoclassical style look.

Very important to an accurate portrayal of the period, this neoclassical style door casing
shows rosettes separated by acanthus bells under dentil and lily leaf mouldings. Fluting,
with acanthus leaf corners, to the inner moulding and delicately carved capitals typical of
the neoclassical period, complete this eye-catching door frame.

Typical of the period this pierced detail of the neoclassical style mirror frame shows
acanthus foliage supporting a swag of "bells" and flowers.

East Elevation

This elevation describes how a Federal style bookcase with an hand carved acanthus cresting can be incorporated into your design. This bookcase can be adapted to contain a television or other modern gadgetry or could even be adapted into your desk.

This delicately hand carved neoclassical bracket in wood,
supports an urn or other ornament.

The detail shows the carved neoclassical style cornice and a section of the acanthus
moulding supporting the pierced acanthus cresting of the bookcase.

South Elevation

The wood carved cornice and chair rail continue around the room and the windows have Federal style neoclassical valances which are also hand carved in wood. We can even supply the drapery, a Federal mirror and furniture shown here.

This detail of the neoclassical style valance is hand carved in wood and has a crested
moulding of acanthus above the typical fluted decoration of the period - below a series of
shields contain foliage decoration.

The detail of this neoclassical style mirror frame shows and urn supported by two griffin
like creatures, carved in wood, with acanthus tails and a cow skull below, from which
swags of delicately hand carved acanthus bells hang.

The detail of the lower section of the neoclassical style mirror frame has flowingly wood
carved and pierced acanthus leaves and below, a self supporting side table that could be
half round or rectangular.

West Elevation

The west elevation of our Federal room has the magnificent hand carved neoclassical fire surround and mirrored overmantel. Modern glassmaking techniques make it possible to view a television through the glass at the touch of a button - all part of the service! On either side of the fire surround are delicate panels, hand carved in wood, showing the typical elements of the Federal Style - the urn and low relief and intricately carved acanthus.

The detail of the panel shows a beautiful and delicate low
relief wood carved panel in the neoclassical style, with an
urn with rams head handles and flowing acanthus leaf.

At the center of the fire surround frieze, an acanthus panel (or another design to personalize
the wishes of the client?) has been hand carved, above which can be seen a series of
typically wood carved mouldings of the neoclassical period - lily moulding, flutes bead
and reel etc.

This neoclassical style overmantel has been hand carved in wood with a cresting of pierced
acanthus - the glass of the mirror is overlaid with delicate carvings of bells and rosettes and
the surrounding boarder has a lily leaf moulding with corners of acanthus.
