Dover Publications: Recommended by Agrell Architectural Carving for anyone involved in classical design.

There are many wonderful books published by Dover and to be honest I don't know what we artisans and designers would do without this publishing company.

Many of the books related to carved ornamentation are listed on our teaching site www.woodcarvingworkshop.com/tips/books.html but one in particular stands out - "Ornamental Borders, Scrolls and Cartouches" ISBN number 0-846-21045.

This book is just packed with great line drawings that can be used for many different applications - copyright free. There is also a CD - Rom available with the book too. And even though the cover shows the usual lack of imagination common to this publisher this is well worth the small amount of money - a very valuable tool for designers and woodcarvers alike.
